ChemE Ingenuity and Entrepreneurship

Third year ChemE undergraduate student Ashrith Domun may soon make your ride to U of T's Mississauga campus a whole lot greener. Ashrith, Tian Tian (Eng Sci) and Stefan Attig (Environmental Studies) form a team called Hydron that is part of this year's Hatchery, the FASE business accelerator for students. With help from private-sector mentors, they are assessing the financial viability of operating commuter buses with hydrogen fuel cells.

Read about their project in U of T Magazine.

flakeHappy Holidays!

flakeThe University will be closed over the winter break until Mon, Jan 5. Chem Eng News will be on hiatus during this time.

We wish you all a very merry holiday and a relaxing break. See you in 2015!

Resume Impact Workshop

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows seeking career opportunities outside academia may find it difficult to communicate their skills and accomplishments in a way that makes it easy for hiring managers to appreciate their potential. In this intensive resume workshop, participants will be challenged to translate their experiences in a way that highlights their career potential.

The Resume Impact Workshop will be held on Jan 27 and Feb 3, 6:00PM-8:00PM in WB 407 and will be delivered by a group of U of T PhD alumni with experience in marketing themselves and working in industry.

To apply for the workshop, submit your current resume as well as a short (<200 words) personal statement to CEGSA (cegsa.chemeng@utoronto.ca) by Tues, Jan 20, 2015 at 6:00PM.

Take advantage of this great opportunity to boost your resume for non-academic employers!
