Record-Breaking Gift for Cardiac Health

This week the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering was part of the announcement of an historic philanthropic gift by the Rogers family for the creation of the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research. Loretta Rogers, wife of the late Ted Rogers, and her family are providing an unprecedented donation of $130 million for this new Canadian initiative. The Centre is a joint initiative of SickKids Hospital, UHN and the University of Toronto. U of T's efforts will be led by the FASE's Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering.

Spotlight on ChemE Varsity Hockey Player

ChemE undergraduate student Caitlin Maikawa (1T6), who has worked as a summer student with Professor Greg Evans, balances her time between the demands of her engineering studies and the rigorous training schedule of the Varsity hockey team. ChemE Welcomes New Graduate Administrator

We are please to welcome Cindy Cao, our new Graduate Administrator who joined us on Nov 17 for a one-year secondment. Cindy brings with her enthusiasm, energy and extensive administrative experience in a graduate studies environment. Prior to her appointment with us, she worked in graduate offices at the Institute of Health Policy and MIE of U of T, as well as Civil Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. Please help us to welcome Cindy and wish her all the best in her new role in our department.

You're invited to strike up some fun with CEGSA at their annual Movember Bowling Night on Mon, Nov 24 for ONLY $5!
