Greg Evans discusses vehicle emissions on CBC Ontario Today

On Monday, October 1, Prof. Greg Evans joined CBC Ontario Today with Rita Celli to discuss his leading research on vehicle pollution and the importance of emissions tests in the wake of the Government of Ontario’s announcement on their plans to scrap the Drive Clean program: https://www.cbc.ca/listen/shows/ontario-today/episode/15608211

LLE date change

Jennifer Case from Virginia Tech will be providing the 2018-19 Education Lecture and Seminar. Her talk (co-hosted by ISTEP) is entitled, Going beyond the fads and jargon: What does research tell us about teaching for high quality learning in science and engineering? Please note that the date of her talk has changed from Wedneday, March 6, 2019 to Wednesday, April 10, 2019; but it will still run from 12-1pm in WB116.

REMINDER: BioZone special seminar on Thu, Nov 15

BioZone and IWI will be hosting a special seminar on Thursday, November 15 from 1-2pm in WB407. The talk will be given by Dr. Jane Fowler, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Technical University of Denmark with research interests revolving around sustainable biotechnologies for biological drinking water and wastewater treatment using mixed microbial communities. Her talk is entitled, Biofilm thickness modulates community assembly processes and functionality in wastewater treatment.

REMINDER: Annual BioZone Mass Spectrometry User Meeting on Fri, Nov 16

On Fri, November 16 from 12-5pm in WB407, BioZone will be hosting its annual Mass Spectrometry User Meeting. The aims of the meeting are to provide users with information on the latest techniques and methods the facility is capable of performing, and to determine what sample prep techniques and analysis tools users are interested in.
