The Unit Ops Lab is Changing!

Some of you might have noticed the changes happening in the Unit Operations Lab (Unit Ops). The lab has been a cornerstone of undergraduate chemical engineering education in our department for over 65 years. A major project is underway to expand the lab and introduce state-of-the-art Integrated Chemical Engineering experiments to the curriculum. See how things are changing and what the lab looked like in 1948.

Have your own photos of Unit Ops through the years? Contact christina.heidorn@utoronto.ca to add to our archive.

2nd WHMIS Refresher Session Added

A second in-person WHMIS session has been scheduled for Nov 4, 2014, 12PM - 1PM in MC252. You must arrive prior to 12:10 pm to gain entry to the room and receive an attendance form.

Completion of a WHMIS refresher session is mandatory for all staff, graduate students and PDFs. Individuals that attended the refresher session on October 15, or completed CHE2222 in 2014, do not need to attend the session on Nov 4.

By next week, we will also have the WHMIS session available in electronic form on the Department website. If you choose to complete the session online, you can send me email to obtain the accompanying quiz.
