Innovative “Tissue Velcro” Could Help Repair Damaged Hearts

Tri-Campus TA Day on Tuesday, September 1
On Tuesday, September 1 the University of Toronto is running a Tri-Campus TA Day in the Bahen Centre (40 St. George Street). For the agenda and registration info, click here. This event is an excellent opportunity for TAs to meet the team from the Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation and to explore new ideas to improve student learning.
Osmotic Self-Propulsion Seminar on Tuesday, September 1
Professor Ehud Yariv from the
Technion University in Israel will be giving a seminar on Tuesday, September 1 from 12-1pm in WB215. Professor Yariv has
expertise in the area of small scale and particulate flows, and in

First-Year Orientation on Wednesday, September 9
The Department will be hosting its first-year orientation session and lunch on Wednesday, September 9 from 12-2pm. Professors and staff are still needed for the intro session in WB116 from 12-12:30pm and lunch in the undergrad common room from 12:30-2pm. Graduate Orientation Sessions on Friday, September 11
The grad office will be hosting the MASc/PhD orientation session on Friday, September 11 from 1-2pm in WB115. Introduction of administrative staff will take place at 1:05pm. The MEng orientation session will be held from 2:30-3:30pm in WB219. Introduction of administrative staff will take place at 2:35pm. To all staff members, please mark down the times and locations and prepare a very brief intro to share during the sessions (2-5 sentences is fine). Sunday, September 27: 9:15am-1:45pm and 1:15-5:15pm
The Department needs to fill each shift with two volunteers. All volunteers are required to attend a short training session. Training session information will be emailed to you if you're interested in helping out.
