ALChemE & Troost ILead Redpath tour

PROFESSORS, if you have summer students this year, please inform them about the ALChemE & Troost ILead Redpath tour on Friday, August 10. This unique opportunity will give your students a chance to visit the refinery’s facilities (which accepts 21 000 tonnes of sugar twice a month from Brazil!), and meet chemical engineers now working at Redpath. For more details and to register, students should visit this page.

REMINDER: PDF opportunity

The Pardee (www.pardeelab.org) and Sinton Labs (www.sintonlab.com) at the University of Toronto are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in mechanical engineering and/or chemical engineering. The proposed project aims to develop a fluid-handling device to manipulate synthetic biology reactions, temperature control and optical monitoring. For more details including how to apply, click here.

REMINDER: SOCAAR requires lab assistant needed for air quality and health research

The Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research (SOCAAR) is looking for a research assistant interested in air quality and its impacts on human health. This will initially be a three-month position with the possibility of an extension and/or conversion into an MASc thesis project. SOCAAR is looking for a talented candidate interested in working in a wet-lab environment to apply a challenging new method for evaluating the toxicity of particulate matter. Interested individuals should send their resume and a copy of their transcript to Prof. Greg Evans at greg.evans@utoronto.ca.

REMINDER: UnERD on Tue, Aug 14

The 2018 Undergraduate Engineering Research Day (UnERD) will take place in the Bahen Centre on Tuesday, August 14. This is the perfect conference for our undergrads to showcase their findings and accomplishments to like-minded students and professors. Attendees will have the chance to learn about research being done in the community and discover the opportunities available to undergraduate students. Please encourage our undergrads to participate.
