SOCAAR requires lab assistant needed for air quality and health research

The Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research (SOCAAR) is looking for a research assistant interested in air quality and its impacts on human health. This will initially be a three-month position with the possibility of an extension and/or conversion into an M.A.Sc. thesis project. SOCAAR is looking for a talented candidate interested in working in a wet-lab environment to apply a challenging new method for evaluating the toxicity of particulate matter. This method will be applied to samples from across Canada and around the world. The results will be used by our partners at Health Canada to better understand adverse health impacts arising from exposure to particulate matter. The ideal candidate will have a high level of manual dexterity and demonstrate dedication with a strong attention to detail; great care is needed in order to obtain reproducible results using this novel method. Interested individuals should send their resume and a copy of their transcript to Prof. Greg Evans at greg.evans@utoronto.ca. The position will remain open until filled. Please feel free to inform those who might be interested.
