Nominations are now open for the 2018 Biochemical Engineering Journal Young Investigator Award
ChemE Professor Krishna Mahadevan is the 2017 recipient of the Biochemical Engineering Journal Young Investigator Award. Could you be the next winner? This annual award recognizes outstanding excellence in research and practice contributed to the field of biochemical engineering by a young community member. The Award winner will receive a cash prize of 2,500 U.S. Dollars and present a Keynote Lecture at the European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES) in Lisbon, Portugal in September 2018. Award recipients will also submit a perspectives style article based on the topic of their lecture, which will serve as the central focus of a related Special Issue to be published in Biochemical Engineering Journal. Nomination packages for the 2018 Award are due Friday, September 15, 2017. For more details on how to apply, click here.
Acting Chair
During the upcoming weeks, the following professors will serve as Acting Chair:
- Graeme Norval will serve as Acting Chair on Monday, July 17 and Thursday, July 20;
- Vlad Papangelakis will serve as Acting Chair on Tuesday, July 18, Wednesday, July 19 and Friday, July 21;
- Krishna Mahadevan will serve as Acting Chair from Monday, July 24 to Monday, July 31 (inclusive); and
- Milica Radisic will serve as Acting Chair from Monday, August 14 to Friday, August 25 (inclusive)
