Flashback Friday

RO water shutdown on Tue, Jun 28

On Tuesday, June 28 between 8am-4:30pm there will be no RO water available in Wallberg. Please keep all RO water taps in the closed position for the duration of this shutdown. The taps will be opened and system flushed by the maintenance contractor/building engineer when required.

Reminder: BioZone Mass Spectrometry Facility Open House

BioZone and the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering are pleased to invite you to an Open House on Wednesday, June 29 from 9am-1pm in WB219. The event will showcase the services available at the BioZone Mass Spectrometry Facility. The Mass Spectrometry Facility operates at the University of Toronto in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry and offers proteomics, metabolomics, and small molecule analysis, as well as method development services and expert advice on these techniques. Reminder: special lecture by Ian Lewis on Wed, Jun 29

As part of BioZone Mass Spectrometry Facility Open House, Dr. Ian Lewis, an Assistant Professor and Alberta Innovates—Health Solutions (AIHS) Translational Health Chair in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary, will be giving a special talk entitled, Decoding metabolic evolution by high-resolution mass spectrometry. The talk will take place on Wednesday, June 29 in WB219 from 9-9:45am. To attend, click here to register.

Reminder: special lecture by Yen Wah Tong on Wed, Jun 29

Dr. Yen Wah Tong (ChemE PhD 0T0), a professor from the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore, will be giving a seminar on Wednesday, June 29 from 11am-12pm in room 208 of the Rosebrugh Building (164 College Street, 2nd floor). The talk is entitled, Amphiphilic Peptides That Mimic Nature – A versatile platform for tissue engineering via the control of biofunctional signaling, mechanical strength and chemical degradation.

The Banting Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The Banting Post-Doctoral Fellowship competition is now open. Additional information on eligibility and the application process can be found here. Neither the ChemE Grad Office nor the Faculty Graduate Office has access to the application system, so applicants will need to provide their potential supervisor with a copy of each of their application components. Complete applications are to be submitted as a single pdf file to the Vice Dean Graduate Office (gradstudies@ecf.utoronto.ca) by Friday, August 16.
