PhD Opportunities

Graz University of Technology - Fall/Winter 2015 Start

Research description: There are two key research aims. First paper deformation during digital
printing (paper curl, edge rolling, cockling / bumpiness due to ink wetting) should be reduced.
Second the optimization of liquid uptake (gluing, printing) and water desorption (drying) of
paper should be optimized. The main responsibility of the researcher is the development of
product modifications that can be transferred to the industrial process. The position requires
strong interaction with other academic institutions in Europe and four other PhDs in the project
team. Click here for more information.

Graz University of Technology - Fall/Winter 2015 Start

Research description: There are two key research aims. First the physical interactions during
fiber swelling and their effect on fiber-fiber adhesion in paper should be better understood and
quantified. Second fiber modifications are to be developed that improve the production process
(paper drying) or product properties (paper strength). The position requires strong interaction
with other academic institutions in Europe and four other PhDs in the project team. Click her for more information.
