Milica Radisic receives Ontario Professional Engineers Research and Development Medal

Five U of T Engineering professors and alumni have been honoured by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) with Ontario Professional Engineers Awards. Among the winners is Prof. Milica Radisic who received the Research and Development Medal, for engineers who have advanced knowledge in engineering or applied science. Read more.

Erin Bobicki among five U of T Engineering researchers awarded NSERC Strategic Partnerships Grant

New funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) will advance U of T Engineering research in a wide range of areas, from digital infrastructure to advanced manufacturing. NSERC recently announced five Strategic Partnership Grants to help U of T engineers address complex global challenges, including improved methods for sharing data from consumer devices and analytics that enhance quality control in factories. Prof. Erin Bobicki has received funding to further her work on combining CO2 storage with mineral processing. Read more.

  • CEGSA Ping Pong Tournament: The tournament will take place on Wednesday, May 15. Come watch ChemE’s amazing table tennis players face-off for the ultimate prize - glory, and their names on the CEGSA ping pong plaque! This event will take place in WB 247 from 4:30-6pm. If you wish to compete, sign up here!
  • Summer Intramural - Softball & Ultimate Frisbee: Depending on numbers, CEGSA will have recreational Softball AND Ultimate Frisbee Intramural Teams this summer, no experience required! The seasons run from June to August with one game per week. $10 to play on one or both teams, we will vote on which day of the week each team plays. To sign-up for Softball, click here.   • CEGSA Semi-Formal: CEGSA is hosting its annual Semi-Formal on Friday, June 7 at the Fifth Grill and Terrace located at 225 Richmond Street West. This year it’s a Speakeasy theme. Festivities will begin at 6pm. The department has purchased 10 tickets for faculty/staff, which will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. THERE ARE THREE TICKETS LEFT! If you are interested in claiming one of these tickets, email jennifer.hsu@utoronto.ca by Wednesday, May 15! Tickets for guests are $50/person.
