Special talk on Mon, Mar 25

On Monday, March 25 from 1-2pm in BA1130, Prof. Mathias Kolle from MIT will be giving a special talk entitled, Color and light in forming butterfly scales, stretchy fibers, and iridescent droplets. Prof. Kolle’s research is focused on the study of biological photonic systems and the development of bio-inspired, adaptive and actively tunable micro-optical materials and devices. His talk is part of MSE’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

LLE on Wed, Mar 27

On Wednesday, March 27 from 12-1pm in WB116, Prof. Alfred Spormann from Stanford University will be giving the LLE talk entitled, Microbial Electrosynthesis for a Carbon-Neutral Energy and Chemicals Economy. Click here for more info.

Special talk on Thu, Mar 28

Jennifer Lee is the VP of Business Operations at Solidwear Enterprises, a domestic apparel manufacturing business. She will be sharing her experience as part of ECE’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Series. Her talk will take place on Thursday, March 28 from 5-6pm in SFB1105. The talk is followed by an informal dinner with Lee in SFB560. You don’t need to register for the talk but if you’d like to attend the dinner, click here to register.

Special talk on Fri, Mar 29

On Friday, March 29 from 1-2pm in the Red Seminar Room of the Donnelly Centre, Dr. Shawn Owen from the University of Utah will be giving a special talk entitled, Building Superior Biomolecules: Enhancing ADCs, Replacing ELISA, and Resurrecting ADEPT. Dr. Owen’s research focuses on evaluating the pharmaceutic stability of antibody-based therapeutics, creating ADCs that induce self-amplifying therapeutic cascades, and engineering antibody-split enzyme systems for diagnostic applications.
