Annoucements

CUHK-UU-U of T Joint Symposium & Workshop on Big Data Challenges Linked to Environmental Exposures is taking place TODAY!

This symposium provides an excellent platform for scholars, researchers, public health professionals and students to discuss the challenges of using "big data," including knowledge of analysis of the exposome, environment exposure assessment, molecular epidemiology and data analysis. Experts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Utrecht University (UU) in the Netherlands and U of T will share their valuable experiences and expertise with participants. The joint webinar being hosted at CUHK will take on Monday, March 20 (TODAY) from 9:15pm to 12:30am EDT.

SOWC/AWT seeking a post-doc

A forthcoming Southern Ontario Water Consortium (SOWC)/Association of Water Technologies (AWT) project is currently seeking to hire a post-doctoral fellow for an upcoming project. The project will provide for a novel treatment system for recovery of phosphorus in secondary effluent streams from wastewater treatment plants. Treatment will be based on the use of Renix’s Uninterrupted Ion Exchange (UIX) to remove phosphorus from secondary wastewater effluent with the intent to produce low-phosphorus effluent and to lower biosolids production. The project will further produce fertilizer granules from the UIX concentrate to demonstrate an opportunity to generate value from the process. The project is one year in duration and will include development, testing at small pilot scale, and producing sample fertilizer granules as a demonstration of potential to develop value from recovered phosphorus. If interested, applicants are invited to contact Renix for further information: info@renix.ca.
