Professors Alison McGuigan and Vladimiros Papangelakis among 2019 Connaught Innovation Award winners

Professors Alison McGuigan and Vladimiros Papangelakis are among the 12 researchers at the University of Toronto that will share almost $600,000 in funding through the Connaught Innovation Award program, which recognizes and supports promising technologies that have strong socio-economic or commercial potential. ChemE alumna left Bay Street behind to help female entrepreneurs

After leaving a comfortable job as a Bay Street lawyer, ChemE alumna Adrienne Ng set her sights on helping start-ups. She created Open LLP – a law firm focused on supporting female entrepreneurs. On Thursday, March 7, Ng participated in a CBC Toronto panel discussion entitled, She Means Business. Click here to listen to Adrienne’s interview on CBC Metro Morning.

LLE on Wed, Mar 20

Ian Gilmore from the National Physical Laboratory, UK will be giving the LLE lecture on Wednesday, March 20 from 12-1pm in WB116. His talk is entitled, Metabolic imaging at the single-cell scale: Recent advances and future challenges in mass spectrometry imaging. This LLE talk is co-hosted with OCCAM.

Special talk on Thu, Mar 28

Jennifer Lee is the VP of Business Operations at Solidwear Enterprises, a domestic apparel manufacturing business. She will be sharing her experience as part of ECE’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Series. Her talk will take place on Thursday, March 28 from 5-6pm in SFB1105. The talk is followed by an informal dinner with Lee in SFB560. You don’t need to register for the talk but if you’d like to attend the dinner, click here to register.
