IT News

  • Adobe has released an emergency Flash update to patch two critical vulnerabilities. Updating your Flash plugin to the latest version is highly recommended.
  • Microsoft's Patch Tuesday is this week, which will be fixing 57 vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Office, and Windows. Please remember to update!
  • Apple's recently released updates include a critical Java update for Snow Leopard users; iOS 6.1 for iPhones, iPods, and iPads; and a firmware update for MacBooks to improve performance for laptops that have had more than 1000 battery cycles. Updates can be applied from the Settings app on recent iOS devices, by connecting to iTunes, or by running Software Update on the Mac.
  • Using Kaspersky antivirus on Windows XP? A recent signature update caused some systems to block all inbound and outbound internet traffic, and caused computers to slow down when a browser was opened. Kaspersky has released updated signatures to fix this problem, but if anyone you know is infected, you will need to disable "Web AV" in your Kaspersky product before you will be able to download the updates.
